Our Reul Eco-Farm
The Reul Eco-Farm serves as a cornerstone of the Rainbow New Generation 2025 (RNG) mission, evolving from a vital food source for the original orphanage into a modern community model farm. Originally established to provide life skills and nutrition, the farm is being redeveloped to foster agricultural innovation, research, and sustainable income. By integrating traditional Khmer practices with modern techniques, the farm aims to empower local families while providing financial stability for RNG’s educational programs.
1. Greenhouse Project
This project focuses on modernizing vegetable cultivation to ensure year round food security and climate resilience.
–Purpose: To establish a controlled environment that protects crops from extreme weather and pests.
–Project Plan: Construct a high-standard vegetable greenhouse to produce organic greens for both internal consumption and external sales.
–Community Impact: The facility will serve as a research site for students and local farmers to study modern horticulture.
2. Fruit Plantation & Seedling Project
This initiative combines long-term orchard development with a high-turnover nursery business.
–Purpose: To cultivate diverse fruit crops and generate revenue by selling young plants (seedlings).
–Project Plan: Expand the existing fruit garden to include variety-rich fruit trees and establish a dedicated nursery to produce seedlings for local farmers.
–Sustainability: Profits from seedling sales will help cover essential operational costs like electricity and internet.
3. Local Domestic Animal Husbandry
Designed around traditional Khmer family farming, this project promotes livestock management as a life skill.
–Purpose: To model sustainable livestock raising that local families can replicate in their own backyards.
–Project Plan: Raise chickens, ducks, and cattle using traditional methods improved by modern health and nutrition standards.
–Education: Students will participate in daily care, learning the cycle of livestock production from breeding to market.
4. Integrated Fishery & Aquaculture Ponds
This theme focuses on aquatic protein production through diverse pond ecosystems.
–Purpose: To maximize water resources for the production of high-value aquatic species.
–Project Plan: Construct and manage specialized ponds for the cultivation of fish, shrimp, frogs, and eels.
–Revenue Model: Output will provide fresh protein for the project hostel and generate income through sales to the broader community.
