Sowing Seeds of Knowledge: From Rainbow Student to Community Teacher
Thab’s journey with Working For Children (WFC) began in 2007. As a young boy entering the Rainbow Sponsorship program, he was provided with more than just a seat in a classroom; he was given a foundation of support that would carry him through the most transformative years of his life.
The Path to Public Service
After successfully graduating from high school, Thab pursued his passion for governance and community development by enrolling at the University of South-East Asia (USEA) in Siem Reap. There, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, gaining the tools to understand how systems can better serve the people.
Returning to the Roots: A Passion for Teaching
While his degree focused on administration, Thab’s heart remained in the classroom. Driven by a deep-seated passion for sharing knowledge, he chose to become a contracted primary school teacher. For Thab, teaching is not just a job; it is a way to pay forward the support he received as a child.
Today, Thab is a vital part of the educational landscape, working tirelessly to improve community knowledge for the new generation. He believes that by empowering young students today, he is building a stronger, more informed society for tomorrow.
Why Thab’s Story Matters
Thab represents the ultimate goal of our sponsorship program: Sustainability through Success.
- Long-term Support: From 2007 to university graduation, Rainbow stood by him.
- Community Reinvestment: Thab is now a leader in his own community, educating others.
- Empowered Future: He is proof that a sponsored child can grow up to become a pillar of their local school system.
Thab’s story is a testament to what is possible when we invest in the potential of a child. We are incredibly proud of the teacher and leader he has become!
